Air

Air we breathe.

Air is a composition that results from many processes and is fundamental to our life and our  existence. Though vast in our atmosphere, it is not a limitless resource. It can be degraded and is degraded as regards its healthiness for our respiration and also the effects that changing it has upon other physical systems.

Transmission of heat is affected by permissibility of radiations such as sunlight. Increased sunlight results in melting of ice, change in biological functionality and resultant distribution of life forms.

Change in transmission of any part of the electromagnetic spectrum that interacts with air has consequences that cannot not affect systems in equilibrium and move the range of points of eqilibria. Increased ultraviolet light affects the retinae of visual systems, increases mutations in dermal layers of animals and can be destructive to life.

Air and Genetics

We research genetic make-up of food materials. Genetic studies of beef cattle include work to alter the code of cows' methane production. This may seem a peripheral journey and closer to the realm of fanciful fiction rather than science-faction. It is a serious research and here falls within the realm of Air.
